Contrarian Investments
Bi-annual lock-up, cash-outs at fixed dates
Figures as of 2016Led by Chris Connelly, a documented handicapper on pregame.com with a large following before the statute passed. Contrarian Investments was founded on March 17, 2016 and placed its first position on April 19, 2016.
The fund was data driven, selecting positions using computer modelling and statistical analysis. A minimum investment of 1,500 was required. Unlike the rest of the vetted group it operated a genuine lock-up: cash-outs could be requested only at two fixed points in the year. Its published cadence was the most conservative of the group at around three plays a month, but each position was sized at some five and a half per cent of the fund's net worth.
The year-to-date figure above is the last one the fund stated on this desk. Earlier coverage in the news log records the same fund considerably higher during 2016, and the two together are the reason every number here carries its date.
The entity published its own site at contrarianinvestments.net and its registration could be looked up through the Nevada Secretary of State entity search. Both are recorded here as sources only.
